iHeart Radio: CEO’s You Should Know - Drew Westervelt, Founder of Hex Performance Laundry Detergent

Drew Westervelt is changing how consumers clean their fabrics. He has become one of the top entrepreneurs looking to disrupt the $10B laundry category, historically dominated by traditional detergents. 

Leveraging his own personal experiences and challenges with fabric care, Drew led the development work behind HEX’s patented technology and in  

Spring 2016, Drew created and launched HEX Performance, a portfolio of modern cleaning solutions specifically designed for active wear and fabrics. HEX is the first detergent to deep clean, protect and build back in functional performance benefits such as antimicrobial technology, wickability and fabric preservation.

Today, Drew serves as the Chief Growth Officer & Founder of HEX Performance, overseeing the day-to-day management of the business. Drew plays a critical role in the execution of the brand’s go-to-market strategy and is responsible for the development and execution of the brand’s supply chain and operations. Under Drew’s leadership, HEX Performance has launched in more than 5,000 retail locations nationwide (including Walmart, Target, Costco, Publix, Wegmans and more) and has been heralded as the “the biggest breakthrough in laundry cleaning in decades.”

Prior to founding HEX Performance, Drew played Professional Lacrosse for the Colorado Mammoth and Chesapeake Bayhawks in National Lacrosse League as well as the Denver Outlaws and New York Lizards in Major League Lacrosse. He was acquired by the Philadelphia Wings in the third round (37th overall) in the 2007 National Lacrosse League entry draft and was selected as a two-team USA Team member and Major League Lacrosse All-Star team. A leader on and now off the field, Drew was recently inducted into the University of Maryland Baltimore County & USLacrosse Hall of Fame and has been profiled in Forbes Magazine, Entrepreneur.com, CNBC.com, NLL and Crain’s Business, among others. 

Drew brings authenticity and industry experience to give HEX focus and personality. His leadership and dedication both on and off the field has allowed this two-time USA Team Member to build efficacy with HEX users.

Drew graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a degree in Economics. He currently lives in Baltimore, MD with his wife and three children.
