iHeart Radio: CEO’s You Should Know - Mouna Aissaoui, EVP & COO at Pompeian

Mouna Aissaoui boasts over 21 years of international food importing, manufacturing and commercializing experience. After moving to the United States in 1996 from her native Morocco, Mouna attended the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. After college, Mouna started her career at Overseas Food Trading in Fort Lee, NJ where she stayed for ten years, managing international suppliers, the development of over 200 new items and supporting sales/customer service on key retailer accounts. While working at Overseas Trading, Mouna continued her education and in 2013 graduated with an MBA in General Management from the Zicklin Graduate School of Business.

Mouna joined Pompeian in 2013 and today, oversees all of the company’s operations in the U.S. She has been a driving force in Pompeian becoming the #1 selling brand of Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the country. Under her leadership, the company’s sales have consistently grown by double digits for the past ten years, and the company continues to grow internally from approximately 50 employees to nearly 200 employees today. In 2015, she led Pompeian’s launch of The Olive Branch Project, committed to helping members of the community Eat, Live and Feel Better. In 2018, she led the Pompeian team in strengthening the alliance with DCOOP Group of Spain, the largest olive oil cooperative in the world. Most recently, she led an all-female team in achieving the first Sustainably Grown Certification in the North American Olive Oil industry. As the North America Olive Oil Association Chair, Mouna is leading efforts to create a standard of identity for olive oil in the U.S. and supporting the implementation of a research and promotion order. Sitting on the Board of Directors for the World Trade Center Institute (WTCI), Mouna is a leader within the Maryland international business community, while remaining an advocate for women’s rights, gender equality, children’s education and job creation. She currently lives in New Jersey where she enjoys leading a healthy lifestyle with her husband and their two children.
